About

Cher Duyzer of Living Well | Langley | Interior Design Coaching

My coaching practice assists people in finding personal and emotional well being through the design of their environment – an approach called Design Psychology. It’s about creating spaces in which people can live, love and thrive. I help people to grow, to find peace, comfort and inspiration in their physical spaces. I believe that clarity – emotional and physical – can have a huge positive impact on our lives. A beautiful, organized, clutter-free home or office can be the first step towards personal or team growth.

My unique coaching method draws upon my training in interior design, life coaching and holistic wellness counselling to use the design of your physical environment as a tool for self-awareness. Together, we can address how your space makes you feel and how your thoughts and feelings have shaped your space. Then, we can design your environment to suit you – to inspire, to comfort, to work, to play – whatever you desire out of your space and life.

It’s about having the time, the space and the mental awareness to make better decisions for ourselves – I call it Conscious Living. My work is part of an emerging trend of increased consciousness about our environments, objects and lifestyles. While others may focus on clean, tidy, small spaces, my focus is on whatever fulfills your goals.

Authenticity and Integrity

I truly believe I’ve found my calling – in part because I live design psychology every day, applying it to my own life and my own spaces.

I’m as much of a work in progress as anyone I work with!

I’m also inveterately curious about what we do and why we do it, all in the context of our physical environment. So be ready for questions. A lot of questions! Because design psychology is not about fitting a person into a system; it’s about exploring your emotions, motivations and challenges, and translating this into an environment that works for you. It’s designing from the inside out.

In this way we can create spaces that we love. Yes, vacations, spas and yoga studios are great, but I want your home, your office to be a place you look forward to returning to – a sanctuary that amplifies the positive and overcomes the negative in our lives.

And by starting on the inside, we ensure that function dictates form, not the other way around. We’re able to determine not only how you live in your space, but which elements are unnecessary, both physically and mentally, and which have meaning and value. The result is a home that is designed to fit how you want to live your life, surrounded by the things that give you fulfillment and comfort.

Are you ready to explore your physical and emotional space? I’m always ready to chat and discuss ways that design psychology can help you live the life you want.

Ready to explore your space? I’d love to chat!

I truly do have the best clients a girl could ask I truly do have the best clients a girl could ask for! They know I do things differently and they embrace my concepts but most importantly, it helps them and I couldn’t ask for anything more. If you feel like popping over and giving me a vote, the link is in bio. Nominated for best Interior Decorator this year and I sure do appreciate the love 💕

⁣ ⁣The time we spend idle makes for a healthie ⁣
⁣The time we spend idle makes for a healthier state of mind. Simpler things bring us joy. We want less and are more at peace when we get it. We sleep better and work harder. When we observe our immediate surroundings, we are more grounded in our context and more attuned to the rhythms of whatever season or home we are in. ⁣

⁣Our environments are a reflection of our behaviours. Good or bad. They also reflect how we think, feel and what we believe. They determine how we eat, dress, move, work, sleep and relate. They are an intricate part of who we are and how we live. We can also shift and change them to support us in creating new habits, patterns and behaviours and alter our thoughts, feelings and relationships. ⁣

⁣Have a look around, does your space support the life you are trying to create? If not, consider how changing something in your environment could potentially change something inside yourself. We get one life, let’s design it to look and feel the way we want it to. #designpsychology #spacematters

⁣Monday is cleaning day in our house. I used to feel guilty for not being in the office first thing Monday morning but I’ve realized how important it is for my space to be clean and in order before I can focus on anything else for the week. A huge challenge with working from home has been the endless household to-do list that can so easily distract me from being productive. Who can relate? So, I have a dedicated day to get it all done so I can focus during the week and still have the weekend to rest and relax. ⁣

⁣Using my space to support me has been my greatest energy-saving life hack while working from home. Our spaces can drain our energy or they can give us life. It all depends on how we take care of them. Take care of your home and it will take care of you. #designpsychology #spacematters
