My Approach

Your space. Your wellness. It all starts with you.

Through awareness of our space, we can gain awareness of ourselves. We can begin to understand what we truly want and what’s holding us back. We can learn that the mess in our closet can hold more than just the physical things we don’t want to deal with.

With that understanding we can design homes that rejuvenate, and work spaces that inspire.

My approach focuses on meeting you where you are – physically and emotionally. We’ll explore your thoughts, behaviours and feelings, and then work together to translate them into the design of a healthier, more inspiring space.

It’s about working from the inside out, to design a space that not only looks great, but creates balance and joy for you.

Step 1 – Understanding.

We meet for an in-person consultation in your space. We’ll discuss your situation and a vision for where you want to be and what’s blocking you from getting there. I’ll ask questions to help identify physical aspects of your environment that are having an impact on your emotions and behaviours. We’ll also delve into your desired feelings and emotions: How do you want to feel in your space? Calm? Inspired? Safe?

Step 2 – A path forward.

I’ll develop a project proposal summarizing our discussion. It will include my observations and recommendations for how to move forward.

Step 3 – Taking action.

The project will kick off and we’ll start making changes to your space. This will typically involve weekly on-site sessions, with the length of the project depending on the scope of the changes.

Step 4 – Trial period.

It’s time to explore your redesigned space and see what the impact of the change is. We’ll meet to discuss your experience in your new space and see if there are any further adjustments required.

Step 5 – Making it right.

Taking into account your feedback on the redesigned space, we’ll re-visit any remaining issues and make adjustments accordingly to give you the space you need to thrive!

The process is very personal, and very rewarding. Working together, we’ll explore your feelings, frustrations and more, with the end result a beautifully designed space that supports your overall wellness.

One of my guiding principles throughout the process is that simplicity can bring great joy and inner peace. When we want less, we’re able to increase our focus on our immediate surroundings and interactions. This leads to a greater appreciation for what we have and, ultimately, a healthier state of  mind.

I truly do have the best clients a girl could ask I truly do have the best clients a girl could ask for! They know I do things differently and they embrace my concepts but most importantly, it helps them and I couldn’t ask for anything more. If you feel like popping over and giving me a vote, the link is in bio. Nominated for best Interior Decorator this year and I sure do appreciate the love 💕

⁣The time we spend idle makes for a healthier state of mind. Simpler things bring us joy. We want less and are more at peace when we get it. We sleep better and work harder. When we observe our immediate surroundings, we are more grounded in our context and more attuned to the rhythms of whatever season or home we are in. ⁣

⁣Our environments are a reflection of our behaviours. Good or bad. They also reflect how we think, feel and what we believe. They determine how we eat, dress, move, work, sleep and relate. They are an intricate part of who we are and how we live. We can also shift and change them to support us in creating new habits, patterns and behaviours and alter our thoughts, feelings and relationships. ⁣

⁣Have a look around, does your space support the life you are trying to create? If not, consider how changing something in your environment could potentially change something inside yourself. We get one life, let’s design it to look and feel the way we want it to. #designpsychology #spacematters

⁣Monday is cleaning day in our house. I used to feel guilty for not being in the office first thing Monday morning but I’ve realized how important it is for my space to be clean and in order before I can focus on anything else for the week. A huge challenge with working from home has been the endless household to-do list that can so easily distract me from being productive. Who can relate? So, I have a dedicated day to get it all done so I can focus during the week and still have the weekend to rest and relax. ⁣

⁣Using my space to support me has been my greatest energy-saving life hack while working from home. Our spaces can drain our energy or they can give us life. It all depends on how we take care of them. Take care of your home and it will take care of you. #designpsychology #spacematters
